Over the past few weeks, Ridgway have had their fair share of trips, as per usual!

Our Sales Manager, Richard Glanville recently travelled to Prague to exhibit at the CRU Wire and Cable conference, one of the industry’s premier global events. Richard showcased a range of machinery, including cutting-edge systems designed for the rapidly evolving superconductor cable manufacturing sector.

 Superconductors, especially high temperature superconductors (HTS), are a major focus Ridgway.  Our Managing Director Andy Glanville with Jack Witherington, our Technical Sales Manager also headed to Boston to  attended The Magnetics Show (MT29). There they shared our latest HTS coil winding innovations with professionals from the industry.

One of the highlights featured at both events was our new 3D printed, HTS Stranding machine, expertly crafted by our inhouse engineering and design team. The model is based on a full-sized production machine that Ridgway are currently manufacturing, aimed for completion early 2026.

A few documents that were featured at these shows were the latest;

 Presenting another milestone for Ridgway, our first HTS winding machine to be exhibited at a trade show. The machine featured 2 HTS Payoffs being wound onto a 2D coil farmer. Meeting critical precision requirements. The machine can be configured with multiple pay-off units, each being individually controlled through the HMI. The machine allows for different tape materials and tensions to be used.
