The VLM4G is a cost effective solution for high throughput taping and can be supplied in single or twin head construction for applying mica, Nomex, Kapton, paper etc.
The machine comprises a capstan wheel haul through mounted on the top with one or two taping heads mounted below. An integral reception stand is fitted as standard.
The control cabinet is mounted to the side and the machine is available in left and right hand.
The conductor enters the machine at the bottom passing around a large pulley. On leaving the pulley, it passes vertically through the taping heads, around the capstan wheel and then onto the integral drum stand.

The cast iron capstan wheel is mounted within bearings and fitted to the top of the machine.
Spindles Each taping bay is fitted with a heavy-duty spindle supported within bearings and through a timing belt and pulley system.
The maximum flange diameter of the take up reel is 800mm x 475mm wide and the finished product is laid via a Uhing traverse device.
A single, variable speed unit drives the heads via timing belt systems. The capstan and head speed ratios are controlled by gear systems as is the direction of the heads in relation to the capstan direction.
Reserve and Conductor Steadies The taping head bays are equipped with reserve pack tubes above each taping point giving 250mm capacity. Each tube is fitted with 2 pairs of adjustable guide rollers set at 90 degrees to each other to hold the conductor after the taping point.
Fitted to each taping bay is a tape break detector. Should a tape break, the tape head 'flyer' will operate a switch. The machine will then be brought to a controlled rapid stop.
A photo-electric low level tape pad detector is fitted to each taping bay and monitors the tape pads and will bring the machine to a controlled stop when activated.
The control system is mounted within the control cabinet to the side of the machine with operator controls to the front. All controls are user friendly with Line Speed, Lay Length and Metres Processed all easily visible to the operator.
An electrically interlocked, polycarbonate panelled door is fitted. The machine is CE marked and complies with current health and safety legislation.
Conductor capacity: Ø.35mm - Ø14mm
Maximum line speed: 50 metres per minute
Maximum spindle speed: 2000 rpm (type of head may limit maximum speed)
Electrical supply: To suit local supply
