History

Ridgway Machines Ltd can trace its roots back to 1920 when Ridgway & Co were first established in Leicester, England. Originally a general engineer, Ridgway (sometimes misspelled as 'Ridgeway') evolved into a high quality specialist design and manufacturing company.

Working closely with local manufacturers such as GEC, Brush Electrical Machines and Midland Dynamo, Ridgway developed a range of machinery for the coil winding industry.

The acquisition of Crowther Engineering in 1988 led to Ridgway's development as a taping machinery specialist and the introduction of the RTP and SRTP range of machinery for the oil and pipeline industries.

Ridgway is an engineering company that is owned and managed by engineers. Our design and sales team all have engineering backgrounds and understand the issues involved in fast, high quality, cost effective production.

In addition to a well proven range of standard machines, we also specialise in building machinery for specific customer applications. This can either be adapting existing designs, or developing new equipment to customer order.
